Building on the foundation of Day 1, the second and third days of LPI’s faculty and staff development sessions focused on practical skills and shared commitments to better serve our students.
Day 2 – Training in Restorative Justice
The second day centered on restorative justice, a relationship-based approach to discipline and conflict resolution that emphasizes accountability, healing, and restoring trust. This approach ensures that when harm occurs, students have the opportunity to share their perspectives, take responsibility for their actions, and work toward repairing relationships—fostering empathy, belonging, and personal growth.
For our staff, the training offered strategies to address conflict in ways that preserve and strengthen relationships with students. Through hands-on exercises, role-playing scenarios, and peer-led discussions, faculty and staff practiced circle conversations, learned de-escalation techniques, and explored ways to integrate restorative language into everyday interactions. The focus remained clear: guiding students toward understanding the impact of their actions, making amends, and returning with restored dignity and purpose.
Day 3 – Strong Launch into the New Year
The final day of development was dedicated to ensuring a confident start to the academic year. Faculty and staff reviewed updated policies, procedures, and best practices, aligning on how these will be applied consistently across the school. This day was about clarity, preparedness, and a united commitment to meeting the needs of our students with excellence.
The three-day program concluded with a heartfelt prayer led by Chaplain Rev. Ernesto Barriguete, asking for God’s guidance, protection, and blessing over our students, staff, and mission. It was a reminder that everything we do is grounded in faith, compassion, and a commitment to shaping not only the minds but also the hearts of those we serve.
