Wisdom & Growth – That they would grow in knowledge, make wise decisions, and discover the gifts God has given them.

Protection & Peace – That God would watch over them, guard their hearts and minds, and fill them with His peace.

Godly Influence & Strong Friendships – That they build friendships that strengthen their faith, choose kindness, and be a light to others.

On Day 2, our Lydia Patterson Lay Ministry students helped children discover justifying grace through the story of the Prodigal Son. They taught that our mistakes do not have the final word: God forgives us, welcomes us home, and gives us a new beginning.

The students have taken ownership of this mission by creating the plays, preparing lessons, leading worship, organizing activities, and learning how to serve alongside a local congregation.

Our hope is that this experience will grow into a summer mission program through which Lydia Patterson students can support small churches, strengthen children’s ministries, and share their gifts in communities that may have limited resources.

Grace Ville is helping us imagine what can happen when young leaders are trusted, equipped, and sent to serve.

From our student artists, Praise Band and Mariachi Los Leones, our students proudly represented our school, sharing their talents, faith, and culture with attendees from across the region. We are grateful for the opportunity to showcase what LPI is all about. 🌟

We are incredibly grateful to Tommi Cox and the mission team from Trinity First United Methodist Church in Nebraska for spending time at Lydia Patterson Institute and helping improve our campus!
Through their hard work painting and beautifying campus spaces, this dedicated team left a lasting impact on our students and school community. Their willingness to serve reminds us that ministry happens not only through words, but through action, fellowship, and a commitment to making a difference.
Because of volunteers like Tommi and the Trinity First UMC team, our students return each day to a campus that reflects the care, pride, and love of people who believe in their success.
Thank you for sharing your time, talents, and servant hearts with LPI. We are blessed by your partnership and look forward to welcoming you back!

A heartfelt thank you to Bishop Saenz and the Horizon Texas Annual Conference for inviting Dr. Carla Cardoza to offer the opening prayer. We are especially grateful to LPI Board Member and Metro East District President for the Horizon Texas Conference United Women in Faith Barbara Dorff, whose support and connection helped foster a meaningful partnership with the Horizon United Women in Faith.

Thanks to the leadership of Wendy Campbell and Becky Baird, the Horizon United Women in Faith has graciously adopted a new Creative Arts Studio at LPI, creating even more opportunities for our students to learn, explore, and thrive.

And no Horizon visit would be complete without spending time with LPI Board Member Mr. Chuck Dedmon, who continues to champion college readiness initiatives and help pave pathways to success for our students.

We are grateful for the dedication, partnership, and unwavering commitment of each of these leaders to the future of our students and community. 💙

We are deeply grateful to Bishop Merrill and our dear friend and board member, Dr. Derrek Belase, for inviting Dr. Carla Cardoza to share the mission and impact of our ministry with the Oklahoma Annual Conference.

This opportunity was especially meaningful because it gave us the chance to reconnect with so many treasured friends along the way—board member Alan Herndon, Aly and Tasha from Oklahoma City University, and our forever friend, Tim McHugh.

Moments like these remind us that ministry is built on relationships, shared purpose, and the incredible people God places in our path.
