With heavy hearts, we share that Dr. Raquel M. Martinez has departed for her heavenly home on Sunday, April 12th, the beloved wife of Bishop Joel N. Martinez and a cherished member of our extended Lydia Patterson Institute family.

We give thanks to God for her life—for her love, her presence, and the legacy she leaves. Her life was a witness of faith, grace, and service.

Bishop Martinez is a proud alumnus of LPI, a valued member of our Board, and a faithful, steadfast supporter of our ministry. His life and leadership have been a blessing to our community, and during this time of deep loss, we hold him especially close in our prayers, along with their children and family.

As a community of faith, we trust in the promise of God’s grace and the hope of the resurrection, even in moments of profound sorrow. We lift Bishop Martinez and his family in prayer, asking that God’s peace, comfort, and strength surround them in the days ahead.

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” – Matthew 5:4

He is not here, He is risen! ✝️✨

Today we celebrate the victory that changed everything: death defeated, sin silenced, and hope made alive forever.

What a powerful, loving God we serve! 🙌💛

Our students created vision + prayer boards for the next 20 years of their lives ✨

Dreaming big, setting goals, and surrendering it all to God trusting that His plan is greater than anything they could imagine. This is more than just a vision… it’s faith in action.

Praying they continue to walk boldly, trusting Him every step of the way 🙏

Over the past four years, Lydia Patterson Institute has had the honor of welcoming four of our alumni back to campus to deliver the graduation address. Watching them stand before our students—where they once stood themselves—has been a powerful reminder of the lasting impact of the LPI experience.

Our alumni continue to make a difference in their communities, professions, and families, and their stories inspire the next generation of students who walk through our doors every day.

We would love to reconnect with our alumni community.
Tell us in the comments:
🎓 What year did you graduate from LPI?
🌎 Where are you now?
💼 What are you doing today?

And we have a special invitation:
Would you like to speak to the Class of 2026 at graduation?

If you would be interested in sharing your journey and encouraging our graduating seniors, we would love to hear from you.

Once an LPI student, always part of the LPI family.
